Over the last few weeks I more and more felt the urge to give my website a new look. As the previous design was about two years old now it kind of seamed a bit outdated.
As design best practices come and go, and my very own taste of good design varies a lot over time, I surely wanted my website to reflect those design expectations.
I took the opportunity to also clean up some architectural things behind the scenes along the way. For the new website I ditched a relational database completely for example. This makes it much easier to take the website, put it inside a cardboard box and redeploy it somewhere else again. Migrating between server infrastructures is a lot less pain this way.
So here it is: My 2024 website redesign!
